Cruelest Russia

Golden-studded brow,
leather soul — leather voice,
she calls out instincts
nameless

Lifting forth
the blackest sands,
seaward soaking,
sloe as gin

Stamped with
the blackest boots, but
nowhere whiter
stiller.
